Imagine what it would feel like to hold in your hands a book of pieces you had composed.

To know that you’ve contributed something lasting, unique and special that only you can create.

Brahms was quoted as saying “without craftsmanship, inspiration is a mere reed shaken in the wind”.

People that haven’t tried to compose often think that it’s all about inspiration.

That only certain gifted and talented individuals can compose. (I used to think that too, until I tried to compose a piece with a focus on craft.)

Your musical voice on the guitar mainly comes out from your right hand.

I wanted to share some ideas on how to engage students in improving their right-hand technique. It's a challenge many teachers face, but I’ve found that a few key approaches make a big difference.
