“I was handed a very clear and adaptable method on how to start composing. And you can just feel that this method is something you can use over and over again and create a lot of different music”. —- Elise
You're probably thinking, "That would be amazing, but could never do it."
It's understandable to feel that way, as there is limited information available on composing a fully formed piece, especially for beginners.
But I'm here to tell you that it's possible for almost any guitar player to create a complete piece within a week.
These aren't just empty promises - it's been accomplished by many guitarists, from beginner to advanced, who had never composed before.
Below are some examples of pieces they created.
Join the challenge and accomplish something incredible by the end of this month.
The frustration of seeing all these amazing young guitarists on social media shred through hard pieces vanishes. Why?
Craig Ogden has performed pieces composed by CCG members: here’s one program featuring a piece by Paula Child amongst music by Villa-Lobos, Bach and others!
Because you can now compose and play something that is fully customized to your own taste and abilities.
It’s unique to you and one day, other guitarists might play your music! This is happening on CCG, where members play each others’ music often. We’ve even seen internationally renowned guitarist Craig Ogden perform CCG member Paula Child’s pieces live in concert. And of course, I personally love playing new pieces and have recorded hundreds that were composed by CCG members.
Have you ever wondered how composers are able to write a piece?
You might have thought that they were just born to do it, gifted to compose with little training required.
The words of one of the greatest composers, W.A. Mozart, shows a different story
