Compose a Bach Prelude

I think analysing the BWV 1007 prelude in your sessions helped make Bach's music more understandable. The way he builds tension for such a long time in 1007 is very powerful. In the case of the prelude I wrote I stayed fairly close to Bach's chord progression and style but wrote my own melody.

The Prelude Bach challenge was a lot of fun to do and it took me 2 months to complete my composition. The process of analysing the Prelude and discussing the many compositional aspects was so beneficial to understanding Bach’s music. Having a canvas to follow the process of writing in the style of Bach is definitely very helpful to the process, and for me, it was essential . I recommend taking part in this challenge , I discovered so many new interesting ideas to utilise in future compositions.
