Composers of the Future: Online Concert
This inspiring concert features newly composed works for classical guitar by members of The Creative Classical Guitarist, showcasing the fresh voices of an emerging generation of musicians.
The program opens with me performing my own Mazurka No. 1, a piece blending romantic flair with Spanish rhythms, featured on his recent album Chopin for Guitar. Performed on a Manuel Contreras guitar, this work bridges classical tradition with personal expression.
Next is a heartfelt rendition of In My Life by Lennon and McCartney, arranged by CCG member Rick Alexander, bringing a beloved classic into the world of solo guitar.
The spotlight then shifts to the young talents of The Creative Classical Guitarist:
Nuri Kenes performs her vibrant original piece, Dance of the Dragonflies, full of color and youthful imagination.
Ilay Kenes shares his piece Whirlwind, an energetic and adventurous work written in scordatura tuning.
Emma Carson performs The Long Trip Back, a touching and lyrical composition dedicated to Daniel’s return to Australia from the United States.
The concert concludes with Daniel’s performance of Capricho Árabe by Francisco Tárrega, a timeless masterpiece of the guitar repertoire, performed on a 1977 Ramirez 1A.
This event is a celebration of creativity, youth, and the timeless beauty of the classical guitar.
